The Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) are a non-departmental public body that was set up to protect workers from exploitation.

The GLAA specifically regulates businesses (and agencies) who supply into the fresh produce supply chain and horticulture industry, ensuring that certain standards required by law are met and adhered too.

Be Recruitment strongly urge you to ensure that the agencies and employment businesses you chose to work with are not only registered with the GLAA but they fully operate in line with GLAA standards.

If you use agency workers or plan to use agency workers in the future within any of the following sectors your agency must be a registered GLAA member:

  • Agriculture
  • Horticulture
  • Foresty
  • Shellfish gathering
  • Food and drink processing and packaging

BE Recruitment are registered members with the GLAA.

Our membership enables us to legally supply temporary workers into the aforementioned sectors. In line with GLAA stipulation towards agency workers, BE Recruitment ensure that all workers who fall under GLAA regulations are paid using traditional PAYE payroll (paid and employed by BE Recruitment) with holiday pay being paid to the worker on an accrual basis.

If you are regulated under the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) and use temporary workers or wish to do so, then contact us today where you can be sure to not only get the very best in service but be fully protected with the peace of mind that you are in safe compliant hands.
